Calista Flockhart. Remember the dancing baby in Ally McBeal? Remember how weird it was? Yeah…looking back I’m not sure what they had in mind when they cooked up that idea but nonetheless, the show was enough to make Calista Flockhart one of TV’s most popular faces. Since then, she has had her struggles with personal demons in the form of a public battle with eating disorders and after that the work dried up a little. Until very recently, she was pretty much remembered exclusively as being Mrs Harrison Ford but that all changed when she landed the role of Cat Grant on CBS’ Supergirl.
LeeLee Sobieski. The graceful and fawn-like Sobieski made a serious splash in the last decade of the 20th century by appearing in 90s favourites such as Deep Impact and Never Been Kissed. She also had roles in Stanley Kubrick’s…unusual….final film Eyes Wide Shut and the TV movie Joan of Arc, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination. As beautiful today as she was then, you might have caught her in Michael Mann’s John Dillinger biopic Public Enemies, starring Johnny Depp. Want to hear an interesting fact about Sobieski? She lost her virginity in 2008, at age 26, to her husband. Go figure.
