Viewers condemn player as a ‘disgrace’ after he gives utterly ridiculous answer on The Chase
BRADLEY WALSH stood stunned during Wednesday night’s edition of The Chase, after a contestant gave an utterly ridiculous answer to an easy question.
Chester, a 22-year-old student studying Zoology from London, revealed he studies at Aberystwyth University in West Wales – but believed the Welsh capital of Cardiff was located in Scotland. [Scroll down for Video]
During the first question of his cash builder round, 56-year-old host Bradley read: “Dundonians are natives of which Scottish city?”
The hopeful answered: “Cardiff?” before a bewildered Bradley replied: “Dundee!”
Fans turned to social media and questioned the ITV process of selection for contestants, after letting him on the show.
One viewer asked via Twitter: “Wtf!?? He went to Uni in Wales but thinks that Cardiff is in Scotland!!? Best cancel the wedding mate and go back to Uni.”
“Since when is Cardiff in Scotland? And you studied in Wales. Worst player ever” posted somebody else.
A third added: “Chester you are a disgrace to the good name of all those who have studied at Aberystwyth, past and present! SHAME ON YOU.”
“How he made it past the Audition Stage is beyond me[?]“ pondered a fourth.
The awful answer comes just weeks after another contestant answered that ‘Mars’ is the only known planet to support life in our Universe – with Earth being the obvious answer.
