Where are they now? The sad twist of Chris “The Sherminator” Owen
Chris Owen has a face you’ve seen dozens of times. Between 1995 and the early 00’s, there was hardly a teen comedy he wasn’t involved in. Major Payne, Can’t Hardly Wait, She’s All That, and National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, to name a few.
You likely know him better as the ‘Sherminator’ from the American Pie movie series and spinoffs.
Owen has made sporadic appearances in movies and TV shows since his glory years as a staple of teenage comedies, but life as a working actor isn’t all it appears to be.
Since 2012’s American Reunion, he has only worked in handful of movies, mostly low-budget indies that most people have never heard of. The Sherminator needed to make money somehow and so he became a waiter – the job most actors do before they find steady work in the industry – waiting tables at an L.A. sushi restaurant.
Owen is still acting however, he is still doing what he wants to do with his life, he is just making the same sacrifices people make to continue doing what they love.
The actor admitted: “Life doesn’t always go the way you planned. I love acting and this job lets me stay in the fight.”
Chris Owen has had a couple of jobs in recent years, so he’s still in work, still trying to find his foothold in an unmerciful industry.
