Are The Chuckle Brothers about to appear in ITV’s Benidorm alongside John Challis?

Barry and Paul Elliion, AKA The Chuckle Brothers have been spotted on the set of Benidorm, prompting speculation that the comedy pair will be appearing in upcoming episodes.

Paul posted a picture to his Twitter page earlier this month accompanying former Only Fools and Horses actor, John Challis – who plays Monty – as fans gathered to watch the pair filming. The Chuckle Brother captioned the image: “Men n #boycie Who looks the happiest @BeingBoycie?”

One fan replied with: “@PaulChuckle2 @BeingBoycie twins you 2 should do a sitcom together.” [sic]

Exclusive pictures of the trio filming on set have now been released, suggesting that they might all be starring together.

It is unknown at this stage whether they are just making a cameo on the show, or if their role is to be more permanent.

The ITV sitcom is currently filming its tenth series in the resort, which is also hosting Patrick Murray – another former Only Fools favourite.

Favorites Jake Canuso (Mateo Castellanos), Sherrie Hewson (Joyce Temple-Savage) and Tim Healy (Les/Lesley Conroy) will all be due to return for the new series. Could Patrick Murray make an appearance or is it pure coincidence that he’s over there working?

Meanwhile, some fans have been missing The Garvey family, headed by Steve Pemberton.

The actor told The Sun that his return to the sitcom was not entirely impossible, saying: “Every day was fantastic playing Mick Garvey in Benidorm. We had the best nights out as a cast, hitting the karaoke bars.

“I’m tone-deaf, but love feeling like a rock star. I left the show, as it’s hard to be out there for three months every year when you have a family, but I’d love to go back at some point,” he revealed.

When asked to comment on The Chuckle Brothers’ potential cameo, a spokesperson from ITV told a national newspaper “We have lots of great guest stars planned for series 10 which is currently in production, we’ll confirm names nearer transmission.”

Benidorm continues on ITV 1 and ITV 1 HD tonight at 10pm
