Dean Saunders was interviewed on talkSPORT recently and his story of when Brian Clough tried to sign him has been a sensation.
In 1991, Dean Saunders was 27. He had just suffered relegation with Derby County from the First Division and was on the radar of a few top flight teams after managing 17 league goals throughout the 1990-91 season.
After meeting with Everton’s manager Howard Kendall, Saunders and his agent went on to meet Brian Clough at Alan hill’s house and the outcome was comedy genius!

Saunders did not sign for Nottm Forest in the end and ended up at Liverpool although he did end up with the club five years later after also playing for Aston Villa and Galatasaray.
