According to a report in OK!, Dermot O’ Leary is now the highest earning solo TV presenter after being handed a bumper contract to return to X Factor. So, what is he really worth?
Some of you may remember the well-known presenter got three red X’s from the talent show by boss Simon Cowell – and being replaced by Olly Murs and Caroline Flack – in 2015.
Cowell realised the error of his ways and has since reinstated the popular Colchester-born presenter
Dermot, 43, is now estimated to be worth around £12 million, with a huge chunk of that coming from with work with Cowell.
O’Leary signed his biggest ever TV contract in 2016, reprising his role on ITV’s X Factor. The contract is said to be worth a whopping £8 million, which trebled his estimated worth.
The contract secures him as host for four years, with a view to extending if the show continues to be popular.
A source stated “This is the comeback of all comebacks for Dermot.
“Just one year after Cowell axed him, he’s signing the contract of a lifetime.
“It’s completely unheard of for one presenter to be paid £8 million to host one show”.
X Factor is due to return in the third quarter of 2017 in preparation to compete for the Christmas number 1 slot.
