FA Sunday Cup match abandoned after mass brawl breaks out between both teams and fans

The Referee called the fixture off after the two sides clashed

A fourth round FA Sunday Cup match had to be abandoned after both sets of players and fans began fighting and erupting into a mass brawl.

County Duharm’s Witton Park Rose & Crown FC were hosting Black Bull FC of Liverpool in the fixture.

The FA Sunday Cup is a longstanding competition involving the best teams from up and down the country from the Sunday league.

A spokesperson said: “The ball went into the dugout then there was a confrontation between one of ours and one of theirs then everyone ran on.

“The trouble lasted around three minutes then it settled down.”

According to the home side’s chairman the referee managed to get the players together following the brawl – but failed to get the game restarted.
