Only Fools and Horses’ Mickey Pearce launches DJ career in Benidorm
Former Comedy Actor, Patrick Murray – who played regular Mickey Pearce in the classic BBC comedy Only Fools and Horse for over 20 years – has launched his famous alter ego’s new career as a DJ in Benidorm.
The 60 year old starred as Del Boy and Rodney Trotter’s best mate in the beloved British sitcom and propped up the bar in The Nags Head pub along with his pals and fan favourites including Trigger, Uncle Albert and Denzel.
Murray admitted in 2003 that he became an alcoholic after he began running a pub in 1998. He explained that attending Alcoholic Anonymous meetings eventually saved his life.
Over the years he’s worked as a taxi driver, builder, antiques dealer, hospital receptionist and competed as a professional poker player.
Now though, he’s resurrected the Mickey Pearce character in Spain and is being booked by many of the local boozers and restaurants to meet and greet fans, all whilst playing his favourite music from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
To promote his new venture, Murray launched a Facebook page and has shared holiday snaps of delighted British fans meeting the Only Fools and Horses star, adding that he’s looking forward to not being on the floor (cockney rhyming slang for ‘poor’) anymore!
He wrote: “Well I’ll be! Us #JollyBoys are getting all the attention ain’t we Ian Bennett, MAX, Gazza! I ‘av a feelin’ my days on the dole are over lads!”
