Ed Sheeran made a cameo in tonight’s Game of Thrones episode and fans of the show have been left less-than-impressed with the Halifax mans appearance

HBO’s Game of Thrones has made an almighty return to Sky Atlantic tonight, but some viewers weren’t too keen to see northern singer song-writer, Ed Sheeran performing on the show.

Arya Stark is seen travelling on horseback through the woods when she stumbles upon a group of singing Lannister’s – one of whom is played by Ed Sheeran.

The 2017 Glastonbury festival headliner could be heard murmuring: “For hands of gold are always cold, but a woman’s hands are warm…”

The Stark lady replied: “It’s a pretty song, I’ve never heard it before,”“It’s a new one,” The Lannister replied.

Despite the short scene, viewers of the show voiced their opinions on Twitter, feeling like the show has been weakened by Ed’s appearance.

One person wrote: “I love Ed Sheeran to death but someone get him off my damn screen #gameofthrones.”

Another angry voice wrote: “Absolutely hate that Ed Sheeran is in GOT, makes it all seem so fake and takes you out of it #GameOfThrones.”

“Ed Sheeran just destroyed the meaning of fantasy by making an appearance on #GameOfThrones,” a third added.

One fan was certainly not amused by Ed’s part, writing: ”Is this a joke? My roommate and I have never laughed so hard as seeing Ed Sheeran randomly in the show #GameofThrones.”
