She was the first Diva of the attitude era, and she paved the way for many of the women on this list. She looked fantastic, but that wasn’t it with Sunny, there were a lot of different dimensions to her appeal. She had sex appeal, she was confident, she was feisty and she didn’t take s**t from anyone. Wrap all that up together, and you have the fantasy of the late 90s generation!
She’s had her problems with substance abuse and since leaving the WWE, and she’s made sporadic appearances with the company as well as on the independent circuit. She’s also had her fair share of legal issues, including five arrests in four weeks and DUI offences as well as a short stint as a pornographic actress. But recently she’s gotten her life back on track and in 2011, she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
She wasn’t in the WWE for very long, but boy did she ever make an impact. She was living proof that brunettes have just as much fun as blondes, and she was already regarded as a success in the wrestling business when she was a manager in ECW before the company folded in 2001.
After ECW closed its doors she moved over to the WWE and became embroiled in one of the company’s less-than-sensitive storylines by modern standards, which saw her on-screen character hook up with Al Wilson, the father of fellow diva Torrie Wilson, which resulted in his on-screen “death”, as a result of their honeymoon, if you know what I mean.
If you weren’t fantasising about her before hand, then you certainly were after the famous ‘bikini contest’ with Torrie Wilson during their story-line. One word: damn.
After revealing to the company in 2005 that she was pregnant, she was released, this led to Dawn Marie filing a lawsuit against her former employers.
She’s been working on the independent circuit ever since.
