JK Rowling destroys Piers Morgan in BITTER twitter spat
The two personalities clashed on Twitter after Morgan was told to F*CK OFF by Australian comedian, Jeff Jeffries
Joanne “J.K.” Rowling became the latest person to have a public spat with outspoken loudmouth, Piers Morgan on Twitter yesterday.
The Harry Potter author opened fire by responding to a tweet showing Good Morning Britain host, Piers being told to “F*CK OFF”. The incident happened live on American television show Real Time with Bill Maher.
Australian comedian, Jeff Jeffries is credited with the verbal barrage as he sat beside the host and rebuffed Morgan’s comments about Trumps alleged ‘Muslim ban’. Jeffries is no angel himself however. As part of his stand up routine, he actively jokes about the rape of women.
Morgan, 51, appeared on the talkshow and inevitably caused controversy. Towards the end of the programme, host Maher asked whether people who said during the US election campaign that Hillary Clinton was the “lesser of two evils” should apologise, in light of president Donald Trump’s executive orders to build a wall between the US and Mexico, and implement a travel ban on people from seven Muslim-majority countries.
Piers questioned this motive before Jeffries described Trump’s travel restrictions as a “Muslim ban”, to which Morgan said “there is no Muslim ban”.
Jeffries simply replied: “OH, F*CK OFF!”
He then continued: “This is what you do, Piers –you say, ‘he hasn’t done this, he hasn’t done that, he’s not going to do all these things’.
“Give him a f*cking chance mate – Hitler didn’t kill the Jews on the first day, he worked up to it.”
The comedian then added: “You just like that you won The Apprentice and you have a famous friend, mate.”
In light of the altercation, J.K. Rowling took it upon herself to join in and publicly backed the Australians comments. She wrote on Twitter: “Yes, watching Piers Morgan being told to f*ck off on live TV is *exactly* as satisfying as I’d always imagined.”
This prompted a rather poor, by his standards, reply from Morgan, which read: “This is why I’ve never read a single word of Harry Potter.”
Rowling, 51, cheekily replied: “Because you had a premonition that one day the author would roar with laughter at seeing you called out for your bull sh*t on live TV?”
Piers’ response came a few minutes later. He commented: “Everything I said was factual. If you think screaming ‘F*CK OFF!!!’ at me changes that, then you’re mistaken.”, before Rowling twisted the proverbial knife further, adding: “Would you like a couple of hours to mock up some pictures of refugees carrying explosives to substantiate your position?”
Morgan didn’t take this attack lightly and responded with: “Would you like me to explain why all your political views keep being defeated at the ballot box?”
The spat continued before JK posted a screen grab of a newspaper article with the caption “#StillHurts”. The image showed that her books won an award over Morgan’s autobiography, which she believes he is still bitter about.
Morgan didn’t stop at this however, he continued to discuss the matter away from the active conversation to his 5.5 million followers. He wrote: “So JK Rowling loudly backed Ed Milliband, Remain & Hilary. Takes some wizardry to be so wrong so often.”
It’s a very open debate as to who ‘won’ the spat, with many users siding with either party. Who would you side with?
