“Zlatan. in spite of your colleague Michael Owen, who doesn’t like him. The reality is Zlatan will score more goals in one season than Michael Owen in three seasons at Man United.
“He scored 17 goals in three seasons…Zlatan is almost there in six months…so he’s not a bad choice for us.”
“I said that Zlatan wasn’t the long term type of player”
After the interview concluded, Ian Wright asked Michael: “What did you do to him, man?”
Michael, who was in the studio for the Everton v Arsenal game on Monday, responded saying: “Managers are getting awfully touchy arent’ they.
“I think I said that Zlatan wasn’t the long term type of player, a little bit like Robin van Persie. Bought for a purpose. One or two seasons. But at some point Man United have got to find the next Wayne Rooney.”
Jake then cheekily asked Owen if he had a response to José, which he smiled about before saying: Well, I think my goals were of more value..because I cost about 10 percent of what Zlatan’s on a week.”
