Lisa Riley played Mandy Dingle in Emmerdale, but nowadays she looks incredibly different
Do you remember when Lisa Riley played Mandy Dingle on Emmerdale, the former-wife (and cousin) of Butch Dingle?
Riley joined the cast of the Yorkshire soap in 1995, playing the role of Mandy Dingle, the niece of Zak Dingle and cousin of Butch – who she married, before divorcing him and marrying Paddy Kirk a year later.
Mandy Dingle arrived after being disowned by her father. She found work as a barmaid at The Woolpack, where her feisty personality made her an instant hit with the locals. Mandy was initially very promiscuous, but the arrival of vet Paddy Kirk in February 1997 proved to be a turning point in her life.
The pair fall in love but Mandy ends up marrying her cousin, Butch because Paddy’s mother disapproves of their relationship and pays her to wed her cousin, much to Butch’s delight.
It wasn’t to last however and a year later, Paddy and Mandy finally got married. Months later, Mandy begins an affair whilst attending a a college course with her lecturer, which breaks down their seemingly happy marriage.
In the year 2000, with her marriage in tatters, Mandy leaves to go to London and live with her friend, Kelly Windsor. She did make a brief return in an attempt to win Paddy back, but to no avail. Nowadays her whereabouts are unknown.
Lisa Riley, the actress that plays her however is very much around still and looking better than ever. The actress has lost 11 stone since she appeared in Emmerdale.
Appearing recently on Lorraine, the former You’ve Been Framed host looks a shadow of her former self, but not in the negative sense.
