Patrick ‘Paddy’ McGuinness paid an emotional tribute to a contestant on his ITV dating show, Take Me Out after he sadly passed away after filming.
The comic, who is famous for his role as Paddy in Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights, took to Twitter to pay tribute to Charlie from York, who successfully won a date with Scot beauty, Jo-Tara and left to visit the famous isle of Fernando’s.
Taking to Twitter, Paddy wrote: “Tonight’s Take Me Out is in memory of Charlie. A fantastic lad who I’m sure will be greatly missed by his wonderful friends & family. RIP”
A Thames spokesperson released the following statement: “It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the tragic news regarding Charlie. Our thoughts and best wishes go to his family and friends. We ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this time.” Our thoughts go out to Charlie’s friends and family at this sad time.
Viewers and friends of ‘Chaz Man’ took to Twitter to pay their own tributes following Paddy’s heartfelt message. Accompanying a picture of Charlie with friends, Toby replied: “So hard to watch, but a great guy and some great memories mate
Another added: “RIP Charlie AKA Chaz Man”.
One twitter user suggested the reason for Charlie’s passing, but due to the emotional attachment we are withholding publication.
Take Me Out returns to ITV at 6:45pm
