Holly Willoughby enjoyed slapping Bradley Walsh on Play to the Whistle a little too much.

“This is abuse” cried the 56-year-old host of The Chase

Bubbly blonde bombshell, Holly Willoughby returned to screens last night after being missing from her usual spot alongside Phillip Schofield on the This Morning sofa.

The 36-year old presents ITV’s comedy gameshow, Play to the Whistle and is joined by a panel of comedians and former sport people including Rob Beckett, Bradley Walsh and Frank Lampard.

On Tuesday night’s edition, Holly got a little trigger happy when showing Scarlett Moffatt how to play Face Invaders, which required the Saturday Night Takeaway co-host to slap the faces of the other panelists in order to succeed.

Holly explained: “Your game is going to be pole vaulting.

“Face invaders works using skin contact. When you touch their faces, that completes the circuit and operates the buttons – it’s all very clever.

“Each button here has a function. To generate movement you need to touch blue and green button, left and right, left and right.

Then you STOP. And then to jump you have to hit red”. At this moment the former model slapped Bradley Walsh in the face, before continually cracking him as Scarlett requested to be shown again and again.

Bradley did happen to see the funny side of the skit however, turning to the camera and quipping: “This is abuse!”, before making a plea to viewers.

“Where’s my camera? Have you been injured at work?” he joked, before Scarlett Moffatt followed suit and walloped Bradley herself.

The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner couldn’t help but apologise to Walsh, explaining that she was being forced to participate in the “abuse”, but that proved the least of his worries.

He squirmed: “Someone has blown off in here. Someone has let off. That is disgusting! Okay. It’s okay. The sting is taking my mind off the stench.”

One viewer tweeted: “What beef does @hollywills have with Bradley Walsh !??! #playtothewhistle.”

“Literally crying with laughter @BradleyWalsh ‘Have you been injured at work’ @PTTWOfficial @hollywills,” posted another.

Play to the Whistle returns to ITV 1 and ITV 1 HD on Tuesday at 9pm
