He stated “Simon and I are working on something. We’re trying to do something a bit special at the moment. It’s a work in progress and we may have some information on it later on in the year.”

Fans are crossing their fingers that writer and director Edgar Wright will be on board. They’re are also aware that it will be sci-fi related due to the pair’s infamous love of the genre. The pair wrote the movie Paul together, and may take some inspiration from monster-of-the-week shows like Buffy and X-Files.

Pegg, 47, and Frost, 44, first hit screens together in 1999 sitcom Spaced, which was co-written by Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson and directed by Edgar Wright.

In the show, which broadcast two seven-episode series, Nick Frost plays Mike Watt, the best friend of Tim Bisley, played by Simon Pegg.

Since then, the two best-friends have gone on to write and star in many movies including the “Cornetto trilogy” consisting of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The Worlds End. All three were directed by Wright.

The new project remains top secret, so unless there’s a mole in the camp we’re gonig to have to wait until more information is released.
