2point4 Children is a BBC television sitcom created and written by Andrew Marshall. The series focused on Bill and Ben Porter, played by Belinda Lang and Gary Olsen respectively, and their two children, Clare and John.
Marshall once joked that the ‘point4’ in the title related to Father, Ben as he could almost be considered another child.
The show originally broadcast on BBC One from 1991 through 1999, and carried eight series, concluding with special episode “The Millennium Experience” on December 30th.
Nearly 20 years has passed since the show finished broadcasting. Here we’re going to take a look at where the main cast are today and what they’re up to.
Gary Olsen very sadly passed away just a nine-months after the final show aired in 1999. The popular British actor played Ben, the dad in all eight series and was also known for his roles in The Bill, Health and Efficiency and Pilgrim’s Rest.
After a ten-month fight with cancer, Olsen died in Victoria, Australia, where he had emigrated following his diagnosis. He left a widow, Australian second wife Jane, and their two children, a son and a daughter. He was 42 years old.
