Sunday Brunch viewers blast Brian McFadden over ‘insensitive’ anorexic joke LIVE on air

Brian, 36, was appearing on the Channel 4 show to promote his upcoming tour with former Boyzone star Keith Duffy, 42.

The Irish singers have formed their own band, Boyzlife, which is a collaboration of Westlife and Boyzone. Boyzlife perform the two bands classic hits to a live audience.

Speaking on the show to host Tim Lovejoy, 48, and Simon Rimmer, 53, Brian joked that when singing, they need a monitor with the lyrics on, because they keep forgetting them.

Keith explained: “I never sang the lead vocals back in the day so I never knew them. I’m learning them for the first time.”

Attempting to make a joke, Brian added: “We can’t read we’re both anorexic.”

The singer actually meant to say ‘Dyslexic’, not Anorexic. This was referenced several times throughout the remainder of the interview.

Those watching at home, however, were not impressed by the insult.

One Facebook user commented: “Give Brian a slap …he is not remotely amusing with his anorexic ‘joke’. I am insulted #sundaybrunch.”

“He means dyslexic not anorexic. What an absolute t**t.” another added.

Someone else commented: “Not sure what this joke is about being anorexic? Weird.”

“That awkward moment when Brian McFadden CONSTANTLY says “anorexic” when he means dyslexic.” a fourth remarked.
