Diane Youdale executed Jet perfectly. Jet was every man’s favourite Gladiator and women looked up to her as a woman in control.
Jet entertained the Gladiators audience for 4 series, before bowing out due to a back injury.
Youdale sustained the injury whilst tackling a contender in an unaired episode. The Middlesbrough-born entertainer fell awkwardly off the Pyramid, which caused trapped nerves in her neck.
After Gladiators, Diane took a role in television as presenter, The Games Mistress on children’s series, Games World. Diane Youdale also trained as a psychotherapist and Pilates instructor.
Most recently, Youdale appeared on 2013’s Big Fat Quiz of the Year and as an analyst on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side.
Michael van Wijk is Wolf – still to this day!
During the Gladiators series, Wolf was a regular and performed in all eight series. Wolf was one of the legends who returned in 2008’s for Sky 1’s Gladiators reboot and also became a coach on the show.
Throughout his career as a Gladiator, Wolf courted much controversy for his antics. The first of many when he accidentally kicked a contender in the fact and then grabbed a referee in protest seeing him receive a red card.
At present, Wolf is 63 years of age and is still fit as a fiddle. The India-born Englishman now lives in New Zealand and can be regularly seen cage fighting men more than half his age – and winning!
