It’s been 17 years since the original Big Brother series, which aired back in 2000. If you weren’t old enough to remember it, the show was initially a social experiment, to investigate how a range of diverse individuals would cope living in a house together. Nowadays, it’s a hit TV show which many of us look forward to all year round.
Let’s take a look at what the original reality stars are up to now…
Before Craig went in the house, he owned a building company. Craig won the first series of the show, donating his £70,000 winnings to his friend, Joanne Harris who suffered with Down Syndrome.
After gaining widespread fame, Craig went on to become a DIY expert, making TV appearances on shows such as 60 Minute Makeover. Nowadays, he has his very own production company and is a tradesman for the trades service checkatrade.com.
Darren was an aspiring actor and dancer when he entered the show. Once he gained his moment of fame, he was given a number of TV jobs, but later settled for a 9-5 role at a research company.
He claims that he’d love to make an appearance in shows such as I’m a Celebrity or Strictly Come Dancing to “revive his 15 minutes of fame”.
