Comedy legend Peter Kay will present a live screening of his Bolton-set sitcom at the Blackpool Opera House to raise money for a cancer sufferer.
Peter Kay is returning to the town’s famous venue once again at 8pm on Friday 31st March, but this time it is to premier selected episodes from the second series of the BAFTA award winning sitcom Car Share, with all the profits going to the Gordon Thorpe Appeal.
The Thorpe family, who hail from Wigan, has launched the appeal to help fund potentially life-changing and life-saving treatment for their husband and father, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year.
Gordon Thorpe was told by doctors in the UK that they were unable to operate. His family, however, have been given hope after researching immune therapy treatment in Germany, which costs £50,000.
Gordon’s wife, Donna, has spoken about why they have chosen care in Germany and how Gordon’s illness is affecting the family:
“Our children know that daddy’s poorly, that he’s needing treatment to make him better, that’s all I want too, for Gordon to be better.”
