This guy was a CITV legend. You might know Neil Buchanan from shows Finders Keepers, It’s a Mystery and ZZZap!, but right now you’re probably shouting ART ATTACK! at your screens, which Buchanan of course presented for a whopping 17 years between 1990 and 2007.
However since leaving the show and the infamous ‘head’ behind, the 55-year-old has sadly not appeared on our screens again apart from a solitary appearance on Celebrity Juice in 2012. Even Neil’s heavy metal band ‘Marseille’, who have been together since 1976 seem to have taken a break, with their last album (ironically) titled Unfinished Business being released in 2010.
Unlike most of the CITV presenters we’ve reminisced about so far, Fred Dinenage was well into his career when he joined the channel in 1990 to present How 2, having previously hosted it’s predecessor How in the 60s, 70s and 80s. He would stick with How 2 until it ended in 2006, by which point Dinenage was 63.
But not one to try and calm things down as he got older, Dinenage began investigating crime and between 2011 and 2013 presented the documentary series Fred Dinenage Murder Casebook. Finally, here’s a fun fact for you – Fred’s eldest daughter Caroline was elected as an MP in the 2010 election, the same year Fred himself was awarded a well-deserved OBE.
